I was very happy about my entire experience with Ackerman & Co. Leo Wiener represented me as a first time tenant. He was knowledgeable, patient, and on top of every detail. The company as a whole was helpful from day one. I would highly recommend using Ackerman & Co for any of you Real Estate needs.

WORST people to deal with , i wasited a whole month with them , their agent Major and Brent have no freekin idea about the properties they listed , take my advice and look for any other company beside this lousy ackerman realty. DO NOT waste your time with tem.
Ackerman purchased my building from Stream Realty a year and a half ago. The OWNER of Ackerman sat in my office when they came out to introduce themselves and asked why it was 92 degrees. I said we haven't had a functioning HVAC system in the building since we moved in and we have been getting jerked around by Stream Reality for a year and a half. The OWNER of Ackerman said that they would make it right. To give them a few weeks to get settled since they just purchased the building and it would be taken care of. Weeks went by... No one came out, no one called, no one would return my calls. Months went by and finally someone showed up and inspected the HVAC system and said that it was old and not cost effective to repair so they were going to replace it instead. EXCELLENT!!! NOT!!! They never came back out to replace it. Another year goes by of me paying rent and still no functioning HVAC system, no return calls. Crickets!! Finally after leaving nasty messages and a negative review sent to the BBB I got a return call and they finally came out and replaced the system. But guess what... they sent me the bill for it!!! Needless to say I'm not responsible for replacing an outdated HVAC system that never worked from day one in a building that I dont own. So i didn't pay it. I did pay my usual rent as requirred by my lease. Then they start adding on late fees because I didn't pay for HVAC system that I'm not responsible for paying. Oh and i forgot to mention they were charging me a fee to come out monthly to inspect the HVAC system and put new filters in for a system that didn't even work to begin with. Which i refused to pay. I finally have functioning AC just in time for winter. But here is where it gets even better.... As per national building code for my area the building is requirred to have insulation above the drop ceiling. My building has none. Here is where I would say that my money is literally going through the ceiling since heat rises and there's no insulation to keep the heat in but guess what.... I can't say that because the heat portion of my NEW HVAC system doesn't work. So today in my office is 52 degrees. I've left messages, made calls, sent texts to several members of the Ackerman staff and i get no response which is pretty much typical for the past year and a half. So if you are looking for a place to rent for your business I would suggest ANYTHING but Ackerman and Co. Or Stream Realty. Both are terrible.
We had been in this building for over 10 years when Ackerman took over. Can't wait to be done with this lease and move! The upkeep on the external facility is non-existent,with "grass" nothing but dirt and no flowers, overgrown shrubs and potholes in the loading docks, the fees go up at every opportunity for seemingly no reason, the water has been shut off twice with no notice from Ackerman but they charge us around $500 a month for our "share" with no proof, much more than we used to pay to the old management team and way too much for two toilets and a half dozen employees. The power was off once for a scheduled power-line issue that the power company said they informed all building management companies about bur Ackerman neglected to pass along the information to BUSINESS tenants. We had to pay employees to stand around wondering if they were going to get to work that day-all day. If you call the office you get a message that states "this mailbox is not accepting messages at this time. Goodbye" and then it hangs up on you- At 5:05pm! EVERY extension! The worst thing is that they charge a late fee if they neglect to process your rent before the 5th. Even if you mail the check during the previous month and the postmark on the envelope is for say the 29th, you will still get close to $1,000 in late fees becasue they didn't process your check until the 6th and they will say, check your bank for when the check cleared. If it is after the 5th your check was late! If Ackerman is the management company for a business rental, DON'T rent there! Find somewhere else and just pray Ackerman doesn't take over.
I have absolutely nothing positive to say about the individuals at this company that I have interacted with. My son and I are looking for retail space for a CBD business. When Courtney Brumbelow finally returned our call about a particular space we were interested in, she was highly dismissive and even hung up on me before I had a chance to ask for recommendations of places to look. I am appalled about the lack of professionalism and the clear "there is nothing in this for me" attitude that I was presented with. NEVER!
