My daughter is going to the summer camp program at Sacred Heart. I had enrolled her in both summer sessions .She is 23 months, which in my opinion is a difficult age because they are acquiring the basic tools they need to navigate the world . The people at Sacred Heart seem to be nice and the school is clean. When I signed her up, I wanted her to meet other children and be in a structure environment. I thought it would be cute to see her run around in a camp shirt and have fun with other toddlers. However, I know that's not the reality of things, and she may have been to young to attend this camp.Which is my fault. I should have did more research. I should have waited to send her to camp. The camp for the 12months to 23 months at Sacred Heart is babysitting. There is nothing wrong with babysitting. However, suggesting that parents buy camp shirts for babysitting sessions is not cool.Unfortunately, I bought the shirt, because I thought it was required. However, at that age they dont really require you to make them wear it. The children wear regular clothes. I also get generic progress reports that indicate time of changing, feeding mood and naptime.I'm not there, so I trust what they say. She is always happy according to the report. They change her the appropriate amount of time according to the paperwork. SInce she has been going to camp, she enjoys diaper changes. She sits still for them now. I have an issue regarding naptime policy. My daughter is taking 2 hour naps at school. At home she typically takes a 45min to 1hr nap at home after a full day. Also, her naps at home are usually at 4 to 5 in the afternoon. At camp her naps 11:30am to 1:30pm. Which breaks down to her being asleep a third of the time she's there. Which sucks for me, because she is rested when she comes home. They use a white noise machine. The white noise machine is a tool they use to get the children to sleep. during the schedule time.I wasn't informed. I found out because I inquired regarding how they were able to get her to go to sleep at the same time every day for a 2 hour window. My daughter sleeps close to it. I am that parent. I feel bad about posting this. However, I would have felt worst if I kept it to myself. Maybe I am crazy. I will talk to office.

I went to school here myself and if I had a daughter and still lived there I would make sure she attends Sacred Heart. The place will not only give her a good education but great lifelong lessons. I really love the school and would highly recommend it.

The education that I received at Sacred Heart truly prepared me for college and a later career. I felt well-prepared to take on challenging courses, often feeling that I was far-ahead of other students in my ability to analyze texts, write research papers and participate in socratic discussions.

My teachers gave me the tools to learn and love learning. Furthermore, I learned a sense of how to balance priorities effectively. There are so many opportunities for extra-curricular activities at Sacred Heart, and I took advantage of many of them. I was able to explore a variety of interests from drama, publications, sports, student government, singing, project management, and art. I profited from the ability to hold leadership positions and to extend my learning beyond the classroom.

Additionally, the friendships that I forged while at Sacred Heart continue to many of my closest friends. My classmates as well as teachers and staff at the school became like an extended family for me.

Being apart of the Sacred Heart community is both an honor and a privilege. I am very blessed for my 14 years at ASH and know that I am the person today as a result of the excellent education and values that were offered to me.

My daughter went to this school the year of 2017-2018 in pre K 2. I just wanted to make everyone aware of an incident that occurred and I feel should be brought to your attention if you are looking at this school for your daughter . I received a phone call at 5 o'clock monday night while at work asking what time I picked up my daughter. Now I work until 6pm every day so I have arrangements for my mother to pick up my daughter and I drop her off in the mornings. I had responded To the woman on the phone did not pick up my daughter, my mother should have, but I know the weather was very bad monday so she must've went to aftercare. We normally don't send her to aftercare. It is our first year here and she doesn't go to aftercare, My mother did not know to sign her out. My mother had picked her up in between 3:30-3:45. The aftercare teacher was calling to tell me she had gotten scared that she did not know where My daughter was and did not notice she was gone. Now this call is at 5pm, I myself was concerned because I had talked to my mother last at about 3pm when she was on her way to get My daughter and if something were to happen and someone pick her up, I didn't get a phone call till 5pm when she had noticed her absence. My child could have been ANYWHERE. Her exact words on the phone were "I must've gone to the bathroom or something and when I got back she wasn't there and I had not noticed till now" I do not want anyone to get in trouble, or cause a problem. But that is a HUGE safety risk. After that incident we decided to not send our daughter back the next year. A year later i call to get my tax papers stating the tuition amount paid and a letter with the tax ID #. And i was treated so rude and disrespectfulby CONNIE And Suzanne in BILLING. I had to just hang up the phone. They are arguing with me over a $56 AFTERCARE balance. After that incident i did my 100% best to not have my child sent to aftercare. They could not give me the dates or times she went to aftercare just the MONTH. As i stated i did not believe my child went to aftercare. I paid $50 for a yearbook i did not receive and also had made previous donations to the school. All they have seemed to care about was money.

Last year, our family was new to the Academy of the Sacred Heart. The interview and testing process were daunting for a third-grader, and we were a bit nervous our daughter would not be accepted. We ve always attended a traditional parochial school where testing was not required for admittance. We were grateful upon acceptance, but even more so as our daughter blossomed in so many ways over the past year. The teachers and staff are inspirational, encouraging, and always available to discuss any concerns or questions. My husband and I have complete respect for the direction and curriculum offered at the Sacred Heart, which is guided by dependable leadership including a network of schools throughout the world. Our family traveled to New York City during Mardi Gras and we made arrangements for the school day so that our daughter could attend the Convent of the Sacred Heart (included in the network of Sacred Heart schools) on the Upper East Side. It was an experience of a lifetime! Moving forward, we look forward to more participation in the exchange program at the Sacred Heart and its network of schools. Also, it did not take long for our daughter or our family to fit right in. The families were immediately welcoming, even hosting a swimming party before the school year started. Our family is very happy at the Academy of the Sacred Heart and would highly recommend this school to anyone who desires a Catholic based, intellectually challenging, and respectful environment.

We just moved to New Orleans from Salt Lake City and I was immediately drawn to this school. The girls are happy, and the staff and parents are all so proud to be a part of the school. My daughter is THRIVING here and is so excited to come to school that she runs down the street, through the gates, down the hall, and immediately to her classroom. Joining this school was like joining a Hogwarts house - we didn't join a school, we joined a vibrant community. Many of my daughters classmates have had all their relatives go to school here, the ties run deep! They have so many ways to get involved, socialize, and fun events that it feels like I joined a club or sorority. I run into parents from my daughters class outside of school often and I no longer feel like a stranger to New Orleans, but a welcomed member of my new community. Being a part of this school has been my favorite thing about New Orleans so far. Also, I love the outfits, the logo, and the breathtakingly beautiful grounds. The best schools in Salt Lake City (and the competing schools in the area) can't hold a candle to this place. Worth every penny.

P.S. Of the Hogwarts Houses, this school would be Gryffindor. ;)
