Academy House Condos and It's Downfall (2013)

As January, 2013 hit a new counsel president was elected (Barbara) and a new management company took over (Wentworth). Ever since then because of the Condo Association cutting costs where ever they can all the employees are quitting and old time residents are selling their units.
They pay their workers bottom dollar so you do not get maintenance workers knowing what they are doing. You basically get what you pay for. If you call maintenance for a small leak for instance you will be paying for them to come 2 or more times to fix the problem. Do you really want to pay this. It should be diagnosed right the first time. Again, you get what you pay for with the quality of the workers. Also condo fees will be going up because Academy House did not budget over the years and now is in debt with over one million so that is what you are paying for.

I've rented at Academy House for 3 1/2 yrs, and am now buying my condo. All staff is great, the amenities are unusually good, too. Good location.

The building has everything that most other condos have to offer, and more, all included in the condo fee or rent... and the location just can't be beat. Amazing and attentive staff, incredible new fitness and aquatic center, on-site valet parking (or self-park across the street).

The best place to live. Amazing staff, great location, new state of the art gym will open very shortly, around end of October 2018. It has 2 endless pools, a gym, a yoga studio, and of course all the equipment needed for a great workout. I just love living here.

Good location, convenient to just about everything in Center City. Building lobby has recently been revamped for a clean, modern look. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Downside is that there are a lot nuisance bars in the area so it can get loud on weekend nights.

The people who work at academy house are wonderful. They are hardworking, personable and positive. They are a strong asset. The building has undergone many improvements and the terrace and gym are huge, recently redone and lovely. Last but not least, the residents are great. It s a varied group from young to old, student to professional, some racial diversity. Everyone gets along and there are various interest groups that are available to residents. The location is fabulous, close to the Wilma, kimmel and academy( when they all reopen). The apartments are reasonably priced. They may need updates, but it s worth it.

Best Location in the City! Nice Front Desk Personnel

I have been here 14 yrs, I love living here. Great location and a bargain compared to other CC condos. Re some of the other comments: the lobby is being renovated this yr. Also, Teresa is married to an ex-employee who had a conflict with the management. AH maintenance staff are very knowledgeable and professional.

Great place to live in Center City. You can't beat the convienence and amazing staff.
