My husband asked a driver for a plastic bag (in case if I vomit). Then, the driver asked me to vacate the bus but I resisted. She called a police in order to remove me from the bus and I was removed. I am 19 weeks healthy, pregnant woman and the company discriminated against a pregnant woman. I travelled with the GO BUS (round trip) from NY to Virginia(Fairfax). The incident took place in Fairfax, Virginia 1/3/19 @ 7:30 Am. The entire incident has been recorded. The driver and the person (who checks the passengers in) were yelling that I am contagious. Is pregnancy a terminal illness and/or contagious disease? I was treated like I have EBOLA. I checked company's policy and nowhere it mentions that PREGNANT WOMAN shouldn't buy a ticket. I used to see in the media such incidents happening to others but never thought It would happen to me. If you are PREGNANT make sure not to ride with this company, otherwise you will be removed.

This company is never on time! When ever I have to take the 22 bus it s never on time it s always running late. And when I asked people about the 22 they all know it by the bus that ALWAYS RUNS LATE! In Hoboken the 22 is known for the late bus. Academy you guys need to do something about this because I don t think your boss likes when you get to work late, and let me tell you other bosses don t like when their workers are running late because of you guys. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS !

Unless you want to take an Uber in a wedding dress, I suggest you DO NOT use this company.
Academy bus lines is a disorganized company with zero institutional or personal accountability. We chartered them for our wedding because we expected a lot of out of town guests. During the contracting process we were very specific about our needs and trip itinerary. On the day of the wedding their first mishap was not returning to the church to pick up our guests after the ceremony and before the reception. We were able to fix this quickly, however it cost us because our other limousine was required to stay overtime while we tried to find where the bus was. Second, we gave them specific instructions on the route they needed to take to the reception location (a country club located on a hill with narrow streets). They ignored (or did not read) the instructions and got stuck on a narrow turn causing a number of our guests to miss the cocktail hour. Finally, after the reception they were supposed to take multiple trips to return our guest to the hotel. The driver thought it was a prudent idea to stuff the bus beyond its capacity - there were literally guests standing in the aisle or stacked 2 to a seat - to try to avoid taking a second trip. Unfortunately, my wife and I, our families, and members of the wedding party did not make it on the first trip back. When I called the driver, she refused to return (which she was contractually obligated to do) and was very rude and dismissive, even hung up on me and refused to answer when I called back. We ended up having to request Ubers to get back to the hotel where our guests were hosting an after party.

After our wedding we called to make a formal complaint. No one at Academy wanted to take any responsibility for what happened - and in fact blamed us for not having a key contact person on the day of the wedding. We did not have one because they never asked us to provide one and we were very specific in our instructions on the contract. We requested a full refund because they breached the contract by 1. not following the directions we specifically laid out causing guests to miss key events at our wedding and 2. not returning to the reception to take guests back to the hotel. We attempted to work our way up the chain, getting contact information for various managers at higher levels. Each time we called we were ignored. Eventually my wife was able to speak to a manager who refunded only half of our payment.

Seamless travel from NYC to DC. Wifi worked the entire trip, the people agreed to drive all the way without a stop, and it was without people yammering on their cellphones. If you enjoy quiet and a driver who isn't afraid to tell people to be quiet while on the bus, then this is the bus service for you. This bus runs under the names DC2NY and Best Bus.
