I have been learning Dutch for a while in this academy and I can say it is the most satisfactory learning experience I have never had! My teacher is super warm, funny, experienced and knowledgeable, makes my time fly and encourages me to improve my Dutch a lot! The classes are super dynamic and completely student-oriented, which is also a big plus.
I have also had contact with the other teachers and Pere, the director of the academy, and they are super gezellig! Looks like they are a family and they welcome you as a new family member everytime you enter El Sur!
This is not like other academies in which you only have contact with one teacher and there is no knowledge of the surroundings whatsoever, but in this case the relationships become personal and it is something really appreciated:)
Also, the place itself is super cozy, with coffee, tea, water, everything you need. The decoration is super Spanish and it looks like a little Spanish museum! Good public transport connection indeed.

Al drie jaar volg ik hier Spaanse les. Vanaf het begin ben ik geboeid door de lesmethodes, de docenten en de mede cursisten. Ieder jaar word ik beter in het Spaans en nog steeds ga ik met plezier naar de les.

I had my first 3 Dutch courses in Academia El Sur and I ended up being able to speak some conversation which really helped me in the Netherlands. I hardly recommend the Academy and its staff for Dutch learning and practice.

The intensive Spanish course at El Sur was great! Energetic, interactive, small classes with a very motivated teacher and students. I enjoyed the course immensely and gained a lot of confidence in my Spanish! I would recommend it to everyone!
It is a pleasant language school where I immediately felt at ease. You will be welcomed most kindly by Pere, the owner, from Barcelona. There is a nice sitting area to wait for the lesson to start or to stay for your break. The teachers are knowledgeable and there is sufficient personal attention because the classes are not too large. All in all a positive experience and can recommend to others who want to learn the Spanish language.

Na onze 1e cursus hebben we meteen voor een nieuwe cursus ingeschreven. Voor onze reis naar Zuid-Amerika hebben we besloten om Spaanse les te nemen. De leraren zijn erg goed en je krijgt les in kleine groepjes. Daarnaast hebben ze ons erg geholpen met een cursus op maat, zodat de lessen precies in ons schema passen.

El Sur is really a very nice language center and has a very nice personal atmosphere, the classes are small and there is enough attention for every student. Nice school; I have been going to weekly lessons with pleasure for a few years now. No large groups, nice teachers with attention to the material and the students. I can certainly recommend El Sur.
In 2008 I started taking a Spanish course at Academia El Sur. I was totally unfamiliar with the language, I started following the course because of a trip to Argentina and Chile. From the start, the teacher spoke Spanish, which was and is good for the learning process. For me a basic knowledge was sufficient but I became so enthusiastic and I continued to study Spanish.
The lessons are given in a fun way by very experienced and enthusiastic teachers to small groups of students. The teaching materials are well matched at every level, there is a lot of variation.
For me it is always a party to go to Academia El Sur.
The teaching is excellent. These teachers just did a really super job. The classes were smaller than advertised, which shows that the school is willing to run small classes if necessary rather than shoehorning students into wherever there's space. There was a good mix of nationalities in the classes, too. A very good learning experience in all aspects.
Academia El Sur is a top school for each level. Have followed lessons here for many years with great pleasure. Cozy and relaxed atmosphere and great teachers.

Certainly a nice language school in Amsterdam. For me it is important to take good lessons at a high level (c1). This is not that easy because many language schools cannot get such a group full. Because Academia El Sur works with small groups, this was no problem. There is great teaching and I learn new things every time. In addition, the atmosphere is good and multimedia is used a lot during the lessons.
I enjoyed taking lessons at El Sur. The teachers are all natives and very skilled. The lessons are at a good level but above all very pleasant. Definitely recommended if you want to learn Spanish in a short period. Our regular teacher was Damian and he is really great.

I enjoyed the beginners Spanish course with great pleasure. It is a nice language school in Oud Zuid. Our spontaneous teacher Damian has taught us that learning a new rale should be fun in the beginning. And that is true, mistakes are allowed and in addition to having learned a lot, our group also laughed a lot. I recommend everyone who wants to learn more of the Spanish language to follow this course.

When I decided to study Spanish I chose Academia El Sur. It was an excellent choice.
I now speak reasonably Spanish of a few words of Spanish at the time. I can make myself understood in Spain.
My Spanish is even better than my English .
Followed my classes every Monday evening for 2 years with pleasure.
Time flies, before you know it the lesson is over and the block and you are surprised at what you have learned. Although the atmosphere is pleasant, a good pace is maintained and everyone can keep up!
Recently started at Academia El Sur. What a must! Immediately upon arrival you notice that you are dealing with a professional company. It is very cozy, the coffee is delicious and, not to mention, great teachers work who all come from Spanish-speaking countries. I started my second course in particular and after trying different schools I now notice for the first time that I am really making progress!
The courses are given in small groups, so you have enough time during the lesson to actually speak Spanish. In addition, the private lessons are ideal for preparing for an exam.
I have 2 courses at Academia el Sur and I am very satisfied with both. The quality of the lessons is very good and we work with small groups, which makes the atmosphere pleasant. Upon arrival there is always tea, coffee and water ready and all teachers are very friendly. After these courses I am definitely ready for my internship in Spain !!
A very nice place to learn Spanish. Small groups and therefore many possibilities for an individual approach. Location is very central and easily accessible. You will also experience a personal approach by not only the teachers but also the owner who is always available and together with you ensures that you choose the right level and if that is not the case, you can easily switch to another level. Oh yes, coffee, tea and biscuits are always available (and free). :-)

I have done a couple of Dutch courses online, the Gemeente and other academy but I have never learned so much as in Academia El Sur. The teacher was very patient and explaining the concepts 'heel duidelijk' (very clear).
After I finished the course I feel much more confident talking in Dutch and now I am not ashamed to talk to my Dutch friends. Actually I don't speak to them in English anymore, which was what I wanted to achieve!
