Today's dinner was at Urban Tadka!

We were a group of 7 adults and one kid. Overall experience was above average. The food being exceptionally great but the serving time was a bit too longer. You can always kill the time with a bottle of wine. I'll really suggest it and this gives you time to settle in.

We ordered murg tikka, paneer shashlik, papri chaat and some harabhara kebab as well. Tandoori chicken was tender and juicy..loved it!

Had dinner here a while ago a couple of times. Food was ok but the ambience was good. So thought I would book an event here.

But I was a bit surprised and disappointed.

1) website says that we can call for bookings and more information so when called up was told fill up the online form and we ll call you back

2) I got a call back from them a couple of days later but I could feel that they don t want your business (probably they re doing well!, good on them).

3) Also felt like the reason for the call was something they have to do to keep their bosses happy.

Being in a service industry, one would expect welcomed but i certainly didn t feel like that.

Don t think if I d go again or recommend this place.

This was my second time to this place. The ambience is nice with low lights. The service was fast in terms of serving starters however took a bit of time for the mains. There was a hair in our bread and had to return it and further it took a bit of time to get the bread to start our food. The curry got cold waiting for the bread. Apologies from the server but that doesn't fix the damage and quality concerns.

I was happy for the first time when I came and liked some of the unique delicacies but the experience wasn't very pleasant this time.

One of the few awesome indian food places we look forward to. The staff is really helpful and friendly.

Our table had the 6 person banquet. The entrees were good, the mains were average. While the staff were well-trained, they were constantly trying to up-sell. They were doing sneaky (but blatant) tactics and pestering us to order more drinks - no matter how many times we said we were done. It was someones birthday at the table, and they kept encouraging them to have a birthday shot, and despite how much money was spent, we found out the shot wasn't even complimentary. I wouldn't return, it's overpriced and the service feels disingenuous.

Quite expensive, however the food is a notch above the typical Indian fare. Really great depth of flavours. Look forward to going back.

Ridiculous. Just, ridiculous. This is not just the best Indian in Sydney - but one of the best restaurants in Sydney. On a standard midweek service, everything is still unbelievably fresh; spices clearly fresh roasted. Sauces individually prepped and flavours carefully assembled. This is not your average curry house.

Fantastic food and beautiful decor. The service was outstanding and the staff are delightful; however, the restaurant was full and unfortunately the noise levels from the patrons made conversation difficult.

Maybe the name of this restaurant might be more appropriately changed to Urban Tadka - Heart of Gold

Absolutely awful customer service. I called for more information about potential catering - staff are extremely inflexible and very rude. I am shocked by the poor customer service. From my experience, I would not recommend at all - best to go somewhere else if you want someone to work with you.

What a great experience ....... could have never thought of an Indian restaurant this way.... amazing food and best hospitality ever. We came on a Friday night and were so confused with the options of what to order. But shradra helped us and assured it would be great. My husband was sure about her and let her choose from our entrees to dessert. Guess what we were amazed from her choices for say it food or our drink.loved her hospitality. Definitely coming back for her!

Urban Tadka is an excellent Indian restaurant in an awesome setting in Terry Hills. This has a wonderful and authentic feeling and attended was recommended by an Indian family member - and it does not disappoint! We ordered the banquet and it was way too much! The best thing I enjoyed here was the entrees - seriously amazing! And the the deserts... check out the pistachio kulfi ... if there was one criticism of this place is at the end of the night someone ordered chai latte and a tea bag came out... seriously disappointed.

Simply the Best . Very professional staff , excellent food , very convenient when you are in group , nice and stylish atmosphere. We loved it and as my husband is Indian I can tell you that we did many Indians restaurants in Sydney.

I am a Vegetarian and a Punjabi and this is the only place I could find an Authentic Daal Makhani . Try their Boondi Chaas,Daal Makhani, Kadhai Paneer and the desserts . The best modern indian you can get in and around Sydney!!

For a newly hatted restaurant, our experience dealing with the restaurant manager Mr Dimpy Singh to request a quotation for a family function catering was anything but exemplary. Perhaps our request for live catering for a group of about 50 people was too low scale for him, and hence his attitude was strategically dismissive. His tone and manner was rushed and condescending at best. Instead of explaining what options Urban Tadka had for catering, he started with a patronizing what is your budget? And then went on to explain that they were not a samosa pakora type restaurant . His tone changed when I reminded him not to make assumptions and that I was well aware of what kind of restaurant I was requesting a quote from and equally aware of my own budget parameters. Mr. Dimpy Singh then went on to explain that he was simply conveying that what Urban Tadka provides is a unique, customized catering experience. Unfortunately, it was too little too late. Perhaps he was just having a bad day, but that one conversation left little interest in going ahead with Urban Tadka. Sure, Urban Tadka is not your samosa pakora type restaurant, but the restaurant manager has manners that are less digestible than cheap, oily fritters.

The food was good however the customer service was really bad.. we went as a couple walkin and ordered one main as the waiter told us the portion is big and can be shared.. After few minutes manager came to us and said we need to spend atleast $40 and was pushing us to buy more food.. we were very shocked.. who would say that.. looked into their policy and couldn't find it. It apparently says in the booking page.. he said it was due to covid yet it should been mentioned at the front or atleast when we were ordering.. we would have just left.. he was like you can have it this time but this is an advice for future.. we made sure we shouldn't buy more that day.. would never go back to this place.. giving 2 stars just for the food..

Simply amazing. Organising a wedding can be stressful especially during covid times. Dimpy took one less stress away from us, creating and organising such a unique and delicious menu in 3 days. Complete trust in him and his team, didn't even need to taste the final menu. On the day his service was outstanding. Personally was on the floor overlooking the food and ensuring everything was to a 7 star standard. The presentation of the food was unique and spectacular. Service was efficient. And the taste was just out of this world. A slight unique twist to traditional Indian food. Everyone loved it. Dimpy completely delivered on his promises. If anyone needs an Indian caterer for their wedding, cannot go wrong with Dimpy and Urban Tadka. If anything, definitely give their restaurant a vist as well.

The food is not bad but way expensive. We reached a bit late for lunch and just because they were about to close kitchen they served us all food together including the mains. Naturally we didn't had warm food. They could have offered to heat it up again but they just didn't seem interested. The staff is full of attitude.

I ordered dinner tonight at 7-15 and got my food at 8.40. I think the service was pretty poor was told 3 times that my food would be 10 mins to wait another 40mins. The food is way over priced for what you get and the naan was a waste of money! Do not recommend this Indian food at all! I will be returning to my fav place Aroma! Absolutely disappointed for the $93 dollars I spent.

By far the best Indian Restaurant in Sydney. Totally blown away with the food quality and the service. The lamb cutlets were amazing and so was the Nukkad Chicken.

Due to my intolerance to spicy/hot food, butter chicken is the only indian food that I can eat and theirs was the best I've had from a restaurant in Melbourne!
Also, the food was delivered by the owner who was on time, extremely friendly and professional.
I will only order from then when am in the mood for Indian food!

These guys just prompted me that I posted a 5 star review for their favor by accident as it was meant to be for another restaurant in Melbourne.
I will still keep my 5 star review to them due to the outstanding honesty! Very impressive and I'll certainly try them next time am in Sydney.

This was my first visit to Urban Tadka and had to drive all the way from Rockdale. I must say Urban Tadka s, ambience and decor are class apart and the service is quick and highly presentable. We ordered Veg and Non Veg Starter platter with thoroughly cooked and spice flavours the Sambusa was class apart. Coming to the main course food, Nukkad Chicken is really amazingly tasty and must try, the real spice flavours in dal makhni made my day !! We went to Urban Tadka for lunch. The restaurant is clean and inviting with helpful staff. We were seated next to the window which was nice.

So this restaurant has won a bunch of awards and is lauded as the best Indian restaurant in Sydney. In my view it certainly ranks as one of the best in terms of food quality.

We ordered papadam and dips while waiting for our mains. I highly recommend this entire as the dips really wake up the tastebuds.

We had a lamb dish and an eggplant dish. Both were delicious. We ordered a single rice and prata to accompany the dishes.

Serving sizes are generous in my opinion and we had enough left over for a takeaway meal.

Overall a good restaurant. We ll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

The food was so good it was off the charts. The waiters were great. I recommend this place for everyone to come, you wont regret it.

The real taste of Indian Cuisine in whole Sydney. Nice and friendly staff who give you ideas about indian dishes. Luxury restaurant with above average price but you will get excellent quality specially Curries and Biryani.
Enough car spaces and inside facilities for parties or family gathering.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for weekend's night in particular.

Overall, this has been an absolutely flawless meal. I am a big fan of Urban Tadka and highly recommend you visit. My favourite dishes were the barramundi, lamb cutlets and Nukkad Murgh curry. Mr Weekend Food Escapes would say his favourite was the dessert as it was modern, tasty and a combination of his favourites. Perfect!

I recently moved to Tasmania from Sydney and recently came back to sydney for work, and I choose this restaurant that was 50 minutes away from where I was staying, and I dragged 4 of my friends to this 'wonderful' restaurant who have never been there...

The experience there was sadly UNDERWHELMING.... I understand that such things can happen but the handling of the issue by the two managers was very rude.

They made us wait for 30 minutes for food while the rest of our food was getting cold. We had to leave by a certain time. we have requested three times for the repeat orders but they have made argument that their machine has problem its not working. But I have seen by observing other table that there orders are coming from the same faulty "machine".

This managers are very RUDE and they don t t care about customers they only focus on big Tables where they can make more money.

The guy on the service counter is also rude. He said that your bill is already taken care of. but They already charged us while booking the tables. Moreover, matter is not about money for us but this event spoil our night and not satisfied our hunger. Google didn t have 0 star otherwise I would go for this.

Lastly, they have not accepted our remaining money to save their reputation, but for me the customer service is the main area they need focus, money you guys can earn tomorrow, but not the customer s satisfaction. I AM NOT RECOMMENDING THIS RESTAURANT TO ANY ONE.

We were here last night and it was a great experience. The ambience is nice, the staff are attentive, the food was not spicy (just like we wanted). A restaurant that can take up a challenge to serve Daal Bukhara in it's menu can only go one way. It'd be interesting to see how it goes when we visit here the next time. Highly recommended in the interim.

Amazing food, great service and atmosphere. We have been here many times and I ve never once had a bad meal. The entrees are my favourite, usually we just order a bunch of entrees and never even get to the mains as they are so good!

Truly amazing - definitely the best Indian food I've ever had. Welcomed the moment I came in the door, treated to a phenomenal experience. Great food, great atmosphere, wonderful drinks, and top class service. Will definitely return here again.

We received very modest (well that is polite - they are mean) portions of everything we ordered. The fish was over-salted and everything else was just plain ordinary. The rice was fine ......

Great place for some unique and tasty Indian dishes. Our waiter was friendly but trying way too hard to be a salesperson. We were not seated at our booked time and a couple of requests during our meal were completely forgotten. The presentation was generally very good but spillage on sides of bowls is not a great first impression to the dish being served. The food was excellent however so I would recommend it for that but not for service or atmosphere.

My wife and I have had the pleasure of Dimpy and his fantastic team catering our Wedding Reception and hosting our Mendhi night, both of which were exceptional. The food quality is impeccable and the service is without question one of the best. The whole team strives to ensure that guests are well looked after and catered for. We would recommend Urban Tadka to everyone for catering, dining and/or take away experience.

We were so excited that we found this venue for the baby shower ceremony. We met Abhishek there , who is incredibly nice and worked with us to plan the event. We were provided with so many food options to choose from. There is enough parking space for the guests. Staff on the day of the event were very professional. Food was top notch. All the guests loved the food and the venue. I would highly recommend this place for the events.

Australia Day gathering with friends at Urban Tadka Terrey Hills. Food was nothing short of amazing and about the best Indian cuisine I ve had.
Service was good and venue is spacious. We most certainly will return.

Had lunch here for the first time after hearing about it for a while, and we definitely weren't disappointed! Walking in we see nice decor and the smell of incense. We order a couple of entrees and 2 mains, one chicken and one palak paneer (cubed cheese in spinach sauce) and one side of garlic naan and some rice. We were so full we had to take some food home and unfortunately had no room for dessert! They do a combination of traditional and western desserts which we must try next time! The waiter was very attentive and the food was excellent. Learning they have private function rooms are a bonus, for future big parties. Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in Sydney!

Amazing service catering to the varied needs of vegetarian and vegan diets with knowledge inclusive attitude.

The location is the restaurant is a little out there however, WORTH IT! The food is amazing. Great taste of authentic Indian Food. The highlights were the prawns, they were to die for, quite unique. The dessert again. Awesome!!! Definitely worth a visit.

1. I pre ordered the lobster by email but the waiter could not find my pre order.
2. Ordered prawns, only 3 prawns in a plateful of sauce was served.
3. My husband ordered chicken tikka Masala, not on the menu but was served 2 weeks ago, But only half the size of what he previously had was served.
4. Butter chicken was excellent So we ordered a second one, But what was served it was less creamy.

Contrary to raving reviews, it was a big disappointment. There is no quality control. You don t know what you will get! you would be lucky if you will be served a dish as good as the first one you had!

Love Indian cuisine but cannot recommend this restaurant as it means Going into a lottery.

As a Brit who lived adjacent to the Curry mile in Birmingham, I can whole heartedly say this is a very good curry!!!

We enjoyed the food at Urban Tadaka yesterday. Food is yummy and service is really good. Abhishek who is the manager looked after us very well. We had a group of 20 adults and he was extremely accommodating to our requirements. We will be going back for sure.

It's very unfortunate to write it down publicly.However, we sent an email long back on 25 October 2020 at 1:45:39 am AEDT still there was no response or acknowledgement for that.
Disappointing Factors:
1. If you're taking booking for Anniversaries then there should be some arrangements accordingly, not just chucking the people around the corner.
2. If anyone has booked for the special occasion then it shouldn't be like dining and leaving, there was no excitement in the place, felt like just a regular day.
3. Overpriced food compared to taste. Still can understand for the ambience but it was not satisfactory.
