Abacus Professional Recruitment Review

Great professional services. Colin found a role for me which I was exactly looking for. He was very helpful.

I tried to engage with this Recruiter on a number of occasions but despite applying for several suitable roles, no one. ever got back to me. I left messages to get a call back and it can take over a week. Then I got fobbed off to a junior recruiter who did not bother to call me back. Waited a few more days then called the Manager who intervened. Finally the recruiter, called and said she did not have my CV, despite me sending it in on a number of occasions to Abacus. She asked me what role I was interested in. Told me she was totally overwhelmed, had not taken the time to look for my CV and that she had 40 applicants for the role. So in one breathe she is asking what role I am applying for and the next she knows its the book-kepper WFH role. This person is simply not fit for purpose. All i got was excuses about why she didnt call me back. If your serious about working with a good recruiter avoid this one.

I cannot thank Abacus careers, especially Colin McAlinden for their help and support whilst I was searching and landing gmy graduate job. Colin really went above and beyond in helping me prepare for each stage of the application process. I can honestly say without his daily support and guidance I would not have had the confidence I did in each interview stage. Thank you all so much for you help!

Pretty much the worst hiring agency I've come across. They have no idea what the client looking for job wants, they're condescending and lacking knowledge about the role. They're using sales techniques to get you into a role. They accuse you for lying and treat you like dirt. Specifically Colin and Gary. Nathan was nice there, as he was answering all questions I had and didn't try to sell the role. Unfortunately he left. I will never go with this agency anymore and would not recommend companies picking them either. Stay clear, there's plenty of options in Belfast and around.

I used Abacas to find my second software development job just over 6 years ago and I was very happy with the move and the support provided by Abacas. I have returned to Abacas for my third job move, this time in cyber security, and they have delivered a great service again finding me a great job opportunity and providing solid advance. I dealt with Abacus Recruitment as a freshly graduated student looking for a job in the field of accounting and for anyone in my position I would highly recommend Abacus. They fake job advertisements just to get you registered on their system.

I applied for a job last week, the next day I got a call from the recruitment agency to come in to get registered. Once I got there I had to fill in a form but there was no mention of the job I applied for. I asked about the position I applied for and they told me that they don't have the position open at the moment. Then why advertise it in the first place? Absolute liars!

Terrible recruitment agency with very little interest in helping you secure a role that's right for you. Offered me minimum wage roles that wouldn't pay for a sausage roll in this city. Staff not very helpful. Overall terrible experience and very insulting.
