We go what seems monthly to this place and absolutely love it! Great setting on the lake with a great environment inside. Food is spectacular along with having a nice wine and beer list.

5 stars is for the carryout which is open until 8pm. The prepared meals are fabulous and make for extra convenient dinners and lunches. Very helpful and friendly staff behind the counter.

Enjoyed lunch twice went back for special occasion but disappointed my trout was great but the fancy go with not so
Roast asparagus so old so tough inedible could not cut or bite creamed leek was one tough outer layer hidden under fish mashed potato flavorless

Very nice location on the lake. Very nice outdoor seating and a good beer and wine list. Food is a little overpriced but pretty good quality in my opinion. Definitely worth a visit

Took my first time home buyer there after the closing. We loved the food! Service was great! We were able to eat outside which was quite nice!

Slow kitchen. Ok food that wasn't any better than Olive garden. Soup and salads are a la carte. At least you should get a side salad if the entree is $25 minimum.

They don't take reservations so be prepared to wait. The food is great and the lakeside setting is lovely. One of my favorites but frustrating when you have a 93 year old woman in your group.

The food is decent. But it is 90 degrees outside and they have no air conditioning on, doors open. I understand some people like to eat outside but I feel like it should be an option. I wouldn t have gone here today for lunch if I would ve known I was going to sweat thru the entire hour wait for the food and have no relief from the heat anywhere inside. Do not come here if you have sensitivity to heat or at least call ahead to make sure they have the doors to the patio closed or you will be miserable.

We have done our complete Thanksgiving meal from this restaurant for 4 years in a row. It was amazing... until this year! Not sure if they have a new chef but something has changed. The food was all bland. Gravy, no flavor. Stuffing, which used to taste exactly like my mother made, was not even mixed together well and bland. The squash was way to sweet and had an odd sour undertone. The mashed potatoes were just ok. The only thing that tasted the same as in previous years were the green beans. The Turkey was roasted well but lacked flavor and it was not as large as in past years, even though we ordered the same weight.

It took an hour to be seated on a Sunday evening. It took 2 hours to get through dinner. Osso bucco was excellent. The Creme Brule dessert was very good. I wish things moved quicker. Nice lake view.

Just as beautiful as ever! We had a large group from work, and the service staff was friendly, professional, and attentive!

We often leave work and have a drink on the patio overlooking the water before heading home. Before 5 we were always allowed to sit outside and have a drink but not order food until 5 pm. Today my boss was told by the hostess to LEAVE and come back at 5 for her dinner reservation! The people sitting on the patio with drinks worked there which is why they were allowed. It ll be a long time before I go back!

Make it a point to drive the 40 minutes to dine at A Matter of Taste about 6 times a year. The view is excellent, the service ranges from above average to superb depending on server, food always good. Make reservations as it can be difficult to get in.

We went to this restaurant for the last time, ever, last night. The hostess was very nice. The waitress was ok, not good but not bad. The food was really good. All 5 of us had a very tasty meal. However, this restaurant is starting to nickel/dime their customers, similar to the Airlines. $5.00 for a bread basket. An extra $2.00 for the rocks on a vodka on the rocks, raising the price of a cocktail from $9.00 to $11.00. Lastly, a charge of 3% of the total bill for paying with a credit card . Goodbye to The Matter of Taste. I m sure they will continue to lose many more customers as a result of these nickel & dime policies.

The sauce on the Filet that two of my guests ordered was like a burnt barbecue sauce. When one of my guests told the server, they offered to take the sauce off of the steak and it came back very dry. They ate half of my entree and we finished our meal. When I received the bill both filets were on it. My guests insisted on speaking with the manager. Mike came over and very rudely informed my guest that the dish was prepared properly. If that is the proper preparation, the standards and palate of the chef are extremely sub par. The customer service of the Front of the house manager was also extremely sub par. They did make us another filet with no sauce to go, but frankly that was not enough. Things go wrong but the way this was handled was horrible. I will not be returning.

Had the trout and it was great. The views and atmosphere are awesome here. Will definitely return when I can.

Had our Wedding Reception here 4 years ago!

The atmosphere was awsome. So was the food. After dinner there was a fireworks display because of a wedding on the shore across the bay. What a great finally to a marvelous dinner and evening with the in laws

Visited this restaurant for an office party recently. The view is great, waitress was very nice and attentive, and the dessert was very tasty. I had a Caesar salad with chicken that was ok.

Anna is the best. Quick, friendly and does a wonderful job!

A cozy and elegant building as well as menu. The food is well presented, exciting, creatively combined flavors cooked at chef quality and at reasonable prices (for fine dining). The service is terrific with frequent checkups and great recommendations for pairings. Cocktails are good and well priced. A memorable and repeatable date night.

To start the restaurant has a great view as it is located on the water, excellent place to go to in the summer to sit outside. The best item I have had here was the Vietnamese Sea Scallops. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicious! The Caesar salad was ok but not worth ordering again. The cappellini was not very flavorful and the mussels were not cleaned as there was grit in the dish. Very disappointing.

What a gem!! The lake view is amazing and the patio is the best place to sit. They have a huge variety of food but definitely specialize in seafood. The prices are reasonable ($22 per main) and the service is excellent too

I went to it's a matter of taste with my wife for our 25th anniversary. The wine the entrees and food as well as the ambience were fantastic. Beautiful views fair prices as well as a fantastic server Sarah. I would highly recommend. Very satisfied.

Good lunch server was very attentive but the kitchen was so slow. We had a large group and they were good about bringing all the food out at the same time but definitely took way to Long - we were here at 11:30 on a Thursday.

My second time there. The views aren't as nice when the lake is frozen over, but still decor inside more than makes up for it. Ordered the special of the night: Cioppino. What a dish. Fresh seafood mix in an excellent broth. Server told me I had the last batch of the night (and our resv was at 630 on a Friday). Either it was super popular, it's made in very small batches, or more likely it was because the of both. Service was excellent. For GF customers, menu is not only labeled, but the chef can accommodate

I went to the part where they have the carry out food the girl was really rude and not helpful it was very disappointing. I was hoping that this could be a place I could stop a couple times a week and pick some nice homemade food but the couple of things I got we're not very good they are sort of expensive for the quality of food they have its really subpar at best. If their food was good I wouldn't mind paying the price at all. I think you get what you pay for usually.

This restaurant has consistently served delicious food and the service is great. Love the atmosphere any time of the year. My husband and I ordered the grouper dinner and cleaned our plates!

On of the best possible locations for restaurant, right on the lake shore. Definitely more fun and attractive during summer, offering great outdoors seating with good food.

Eric was a great server and all of our meals were fantastic! Great salad, soup, burgers, fish and chips and especially the perch! Also they have the best carrot cake!

Had lunch and food was very good, however, the service was below average and they do not have a bar tender on duty during lunch hours. The waiters are responsible for mixing drinks, our margarita's were terrible.

Didnt get there this time, we were next door, but in the past we were and really injoyed the food.

looked forward to celebrating my birthday here last night (thursday 24 may 2018)...was sadly disappointed with the grouper...the only flavor i could detect was BUTTER...the fish was poorly prepared...we complained to our server who chose to tell us we were wrong...she "loves" the grouper....the grouper is her "favorite"....the grouper plate came with wood-like asparagus and instant potatoes (very salty)....not sure what's happening to this place...matter of taste has most certainly taken a turn for the worse...service is borderline crappy and the food is definitely crappy....we will not be returning....very sad

Awesome experience, appreciate that the tables were spaced further apart, attention to cleanliness was superb. Even the menus were being sprayed and wiped clean constantly. Our waitress Kim was great. Really appreciate having the door opened for us when we arrived and when we left.

Staff was friendly abd courteous and the turkey was delicious!

The desserts here are wonderful. And the restaurant is very clean. Stunning view of the lake. My only complaint is I wish they would get a better draft beer selection.

I have always loved this restaurant. Soon I will live less than two miles away. I m there once a week checking on the progress of my cottage. There is no better spot to enjoy our lakes. Food is always great, and service is superb. Everyone makes you feel welcome.

This a really nice place. Great ambiance, great view, good food. I just hope we hit them on an off night. It was a very long wait for food. We had children with us, did not order drinks, placed the food order at the earliest opportunity (lengthy wait) and still our food took very long to arrive. We had to ask where the order was and then it came immediately, warm but not hot. The dishes were never cleared. The whole thing took almost 2 hours for 4 people with no drinks who were prepared to order quickly. I probably will not be in a hurry to come back.

As a local business owner, I love supporting other local businesses, especially one as worthy as It's A Matter Of Taste. This is a favorite spot to meet with work associates during the day for a delightful lunch, with friends for a great meal and a great time, or on a date to dine under the stars on the lakeside patio. The food is amazing with creative, healthy, and unique menu options (as well as classic faves), the service is attentive and polite, and the ambiance is spectacular whether dining inside or out. They quickly adapted during the 2020 pandemic so they could continue to serve their customers. While they are currently carry-out only and some regular menu items are not available at this time, the showcase is always full of fresh foods, salads and desserts.

A little expensive but the food is pretty solid. The carry out area to this place is really the hidden gem

Atmosphere for the occasion was prrfect. Had a table that looked out to the patio & lake. Food & service was excellent, timing, taste.

Really affordable and great menu. The view of the lake is gorgeous. I'll have to remember to come back this summer when the place is completely opened up... It looks like the entire wall facing the lake lifts to create a sheltered open-air restaurant.

Very nice place sitting right on the water. It was my first time there and it was too cold to sit outside. However, the view was very pretty. I m looking forward to going back what it is warmer. The food was excellent as was Service.
