The alehouse embraced outside dining when it became possible earlier in the COVID pandemic, having a large tent out back in the parking lot, and tables in the front adjacent to 1st street. It's apparently ready to convert to limited indoor dining once Alameda county transitions to the red tier.
Regarding food: I have never deviated from the fish and chips, except to say that the Cajun fries were new to me, and awesome. Their usual excellent range of ales was...excellent!
It's worth paying a visit here to support local eateries.

Wonderful guacamole along with "homemade" crunchy tortilla chips, both in plentiful portion. Also the waitress was very friendly and helpful with my"doggie" bag. Great selection of beers as well.

Outdoor dining for bunch 3/14/2021. There were plenty of outdoor tables. It used to get really busy here because of their breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet is no longer available due to Covid. The food is always awesome. Today we had calamari strips $12.50, mini corn dogs $8, alehouse burger $12, fish and chips $13, mushroom Swiss burger $13.50+garlic fries $2 and seared ahi tacos. I'm in love with the chef and wait staff. Great job everyone at First Street Alehouse.

Service was excellent! They've got this take away dining down! Staff were amazing! I would not order the nachos again however soggy chips and no flavor to the ground beef.. Can't speak to the rest of their menu.
