Shanghai Pudong International Airport (IATA: PVG, ICAO: ZSPD); Chinese: pinyin: Shijiazhuang Guiyang Jishang) is an airport located east of Pudong District, Hai, China. The airport was opened on October 1, 1999, replacing Shanghai's Hongqiao International Airport as Shanghai's only international airport (including flights to Hong Kong and Macau). The second runway was put into use on March 17, 2005. A second passenger terminal is under construction and is scheduled to be completed in 2007. It is planned to have four terminals and four parallel runways with designed capacity of 80 million passengers per year.
