So I had placed an online order to get materials my employees needed for a job today. The ladder i ordered said there was 3 in stock and i had ordered a couple shovels and a couple brooms. Send my employee the address and order # . When he arrived the ladder was not in stock and it was said it would take a month to get that one delivered. The shovels were child sized (which that was my fault due to not paying attention the height when I ordered ) . I called and got transferred to the pick up desk and explained who I was and she proceeded to say oh the Mexican guy in here for the ladder. Yeah i can fix it for you tell him go get the right materials and come back up here . And said if she needed me for the card info she would call me I thanked her and waited by my phone . So My employee went to get the needed materials & goes back to the pick up counter. He's there and the lady says she won't help him and he calls me to tell me what's going on the lady would not get on the phone with me , and would definitely not help him . so another 20 minutes go by hes I sure of what to do . He calls again saying to please cancel everything and go to another store to get what they needed . I was infuriated because why should he have to go to another store when he has everything he needs in his hands. So i call after talking to 4 other people . A department manager gets on the phone to apologize and thanks me for our patience. Once my employee got the assistance he needed they had him out the door within 10-15 minutes. The other employees who had helped were nothing but professional and had given him the respect he deserves as if he was just like any other customer in the store .
After the experience my employee had with the pickup lady I was aggravated , because that was 100% unnecessary to treat him in such a manner. The manager definitely handled the situation so I thank you for that .
But it still doesn't make it ok for an employee of Lowes to be so disrespectful to a customer of color . That was purely racist behavior of that young lady .
It's not right he had spent almost 2 hours dealing with this when in reality it could have been resolved in 10 minutes.
So that is why I gave the store 3 stars and not 1 .
