I want to start this off by saying that I travel for work all the time and have the ability to book any hotel I want to when I travel.

my parents wanted to pay for my wife and I to come to a marriage conference here at this hotel. When I booked the hotel I was told that payment could be properly allocated when we got to the hotel and actually went to pay for our room. I was also told they would be able to use their Hilton's honors number because they were in fact the ones purchasing the room.

when I got to the hotel and try to set that up I was told there was quite literally no way that my parents would be allowed to pay for our room. there's no way they could associate payment with a card that wasn't present even though I had the card number, security code, and expiration date. Furthermore more I was told that I could not use my parents honors number as that would be out of policy.

When I spoke to the manager and explain how not making it possible for someone to gift a room at their hotel to another person is an example of a policy that stands directly in contradiction to customer service he actually accuse me of trying to manipulate their point system. to my comments about it being bad customer service he looked me straight in the eye and said that he disagrees with me.

All this to say this conference is fantastic but there is still a very good reason that I exclusively stay at Marriott Hotels.
