I placed an order online for my husband's birthday...

I placed an order online for my husband's birthday and arranged for a colleague to be contacted to meet the delivery agent. When I got confirmation, the phone number area code was wrong. I contacted the store via email, got a new confirmation, and confirmed both the colleague's and my phone contact numbers on the order. Half an hour before the gathering, I got a call that the cupcakes had still not arrived, and although it was still within the delivery window, I called the shop. They indicated that they had tried to contact both my husband's colleague and me, however, neither of us received a call and there was no indication of a call in either of our call history. The deliveryman had arrived in the early part of the window, which would have made it easy enough for an email to be sent - after all, they ask for your email when ordering and I'd communicated with the shop that way successfully. I've used GC before and their cupcakes are good, but that was unacceptable. They've indicated they will provide a refund, but the disappointment really won't be made up easily.
