Teresa Anderson Review of Flashparking
I parked accidentally at a flash parking facility ...
I parked accidentally at a flash parking facility in Salt Lake. The entrance arm was broken so I went in and then looked for a kiosk to pay. Realizing the problem I went back on foot and slid my credit card, pushed several buttons and finally got a parking ticket. I left it in my car and left for an hour and a half.
Upon leaving, the machine read that I needed to slide my card and I did so. It read that my card wasn t recognized as purchasing a ticket to park. There was a place to scan a card with a magnetic strip. ( I assume for customers that buy a parking pass for a month. )
I looked for a place to either key in or insert my paper parking ticket. By this time there is a line forming to exit the lot. Finally, out of desperation, I hit lost my parking ticket . I was charged $20 to park for an hour and a half.
Today, after searching the internet to find a phone number for Flash Parking SP Plus Kearns Lot in downtown Salt Lake City, I finally found a corporate number for Flash Parking and made a call. It sounded like some guy answering the phone in the middle of his living room with kids screaming all around him. I explained my problem (I have no idea how or if he could even hear me). When he replied to me, I could not hear what he was saying. I told him there was too much noise in the background for me to hear him.
He quieted the noise and told me that there is ALWAYS an attendant at the parking lot. This was a parking lot with maybe 50 parking spaces. There was no attendant and if there was, why wouldn t they see that there was a problem.
I had no idea that that parking lot was more special than the rest in Salt Lake. The other lots in the area charge MUCH less than $20 for a full day of parking. I was ripped off! Merry Christmas Flash Parking!
