I bought a 2011 Tiguan from this dealership over a month ago after testing a 2013 hyundai x35i felt a little cheap. Being a dealer I thought I'd have peace of mind, how wrong I was !!
After the third day of owning the car i noticed an intermittent issue with the car fluctuating in revs as well as an odd idling noise especially noticeable after the car had been on a short journey then started up again around 20 minutes later where the car would jerk as your set off...which is embarrasing to say the least. The first couple of times I thought this may be me getting used to it being a new car compared to my previous bmw 3 series or even that the car may need a good run but the problem still occurred weeks later.
I've returned the car twice now and they claim they can't recreate the problem (which I find hard to beleive) even after showing a mechanic a video of the issue with the car setting off. To even have the sales manager Will who had the cheek to suggest it was the way I was driving it (I'm 39 and have been driving 20+ years) as well as having 3 other people drive it and mention it, one of which is a retired mechanic.
I've still got the car now and it still has the same issue and I feel completely fobbed off by this dealer after spending nearly 12 grand of my hard earned money on the damn thing. Great friendly staff there (most of them) but if your thiking if buying a car from them just hope you never have an issue with it or they won't want to know.
IN RESPONSE TO DSG:
I have not been disingenuous at all. Ive been nothing but honest and patient with you. As for not recreating the issue i demonstrated the issue to your sales manager (although i admit it was only light in that instance) which he put down to me "adapting" to the car which is ridculous considering i'd been driving it an entire month by that point I had also shown the video to your mechanic where it did it on the way to yourselves where it was particularly bad and your mechanic aknowledged this.
The car has had an issue since i purchased it thats a fact not an opinion. Ive demonstrated the issue to 4 other people (one even being an owner of a 2009 tiguan) who all have managed to acknowledge it within a first couple of hours of driving the vehicle so forgive me for finding it hard to believe you couldnt recreate it.
It seems obvious you simply dont want to be bothered with it because its clearly not a big enough issue to illustrate to you're warranty company. If you really cared about good customer service you would have tested it more thoroughly in the ways id mentioned or at the very least hooked it upto a diagnostic machine. I stand by my original statement i do feel fobbed off by you because at the end of the day ive paid nearly 12k for a car that has an issue (despite wether you admit it or not) and im still having to this very day.
