Karim (midnight front desk) was extremely rude. My husband and I had just returned from Harrah's and were attempting to break a $100 bill to pay our babysitter. The bartender at the Marriott had just closed out his register so he couldn't break the $100, so we went to the front desk. We waited behind the 1 other guest checking in (who seemed to be having a problem with the employee as well) and when I asked for change in was told to go to the bar. When I told him the bartender sent us here to the front desk, Karim became more agitated and said he couldn't break the bill for 20s, but "could give me singles." I questioned this, as did my husband who asked "So you won't give 5 $20s but you will give 100 singles?" and the employee proceeded to walk away from me, ignore me and help another guest with a market purchase. At this point my husband asks for the employee's name as he is not wearing a name tag, and that request is ignored. When the employee had more computer issues he gave that guest his items on the house. At this point I'm still waiting to get his name and the bartender is at the desk waiting to get in the office to put his till away, and I ask if he knows the front desk employee's name. He said he thought it started with a "T" and went to ask the lady in the office. Soon after the security lady comes out for presence and we state we are just waiting for the employee's name. The security guard asks why we want to know his name, in a way that I feel was meant to make me just give up and leave. At this point, with an eye roll and an audible huff, he says "Karim." We say thank you and return to our room. Never in 10 years staying exclusively at Marriott properties have we EVER been treated so poorly. Even when there are computer issues there is always an acknowledgement, an "I'll be with you in a moment" with a smile. This employee was in no way a typical Marriott hospitality employee.
