I was initially frustrated that this appears to be a "jail for pets", however i know they're working with a limited budget and they are a no kill shelter. My family adopted 2 dogs from austin pets alive and both dogs were initially sick but recovered nicely.

I appreciate the good work that Austin Pets Alive does, i just wish their conditions for housing the dogs were better. I thinl they should raise their adoption fees and also do food drives to help offset the cost of feeding animals.
