Amazing! The sand can get very hot so be prepared. Go sand boarding early morning or evening. Rent boards just outside park. Long walk through sand from car park to get to actual dunes. Take water. Remember you're at high elevation. Great ranger/visitor center, very informative and friendly rangers. Worth visiting. In August remember there are wildfires everywhere that can limit views and the area gets summer rains, but it clears up later in the afternoon. It's worth the visit.
