The Fenwick Inn Coastal Hwy. is a nice place to stay for a few days or a week long couples getaway or family vacation. The hotel itself is pleasant, as are the staff. The hotel is also, primarily clean and comfortable. Location to O.C. and the Fenwick beaches is ideal. A 10 minute drive to 2nd street and we were on the boards.
My only real complaints are in the room location. I asked for a quiet room, thus they put my family of 3 in an adjoining room, at the end of the hall, on the 7th floor, next to (what had to be the loudest late night partiers in the hotel). Not a plus. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, they offered to move us! Us! We didn't do anything wrong, why should we be inconvenienced. Seems as though they calmed things down the second night and by the third night, I believe the guests had left. The other issue was with the pool, but having an indoor pool facility is a give and take, I guess. The pool was always cloudy, yet very chlorinated, which o think came from not getting any sunlight. The small outside patio was directly in the sun, for tanning, but the pool wasn't the most pleasant. Hard to tell, if it was clean or not! A plus for a rainy day, if you wanted to still be poolside.
Other than that, the amenities were nice and we had a comfortable stay. I still think it is a bit over-priced, especially since I reserved early in the Spring for Summer dates in July. I found prices were similar when we arrived, if not a bit cheaper to fill rooms.
