The Gold Coast is a great family-friendly option in Hong Kong, and while it has a few small downsides, the pros outweigh the cons. It genuinely feels like an escape to get out here, the facilities are nice, and there are plenty of options for kids. The pool area is quite big and has two water slides and a shallow spot for small children. There is also a big playground on the property as well as large outdoor gardens. The rooms are fine; nothing fancy but very big and comfortable. The food options are a little limited within the resort but there are a couple of decent places at the Piazza nearby. There is a semi-constant stinky drain smell which wafts over the pool area most days, but this is a minor issue. Overall I would highly recommend this as a family vacation spot in Hong Kong.
