Customer Service is not uniform in this store; either you receive eye rolls or "I'm not sure" and no assistance from those who don't want to help, or you receive the nice employee who is willing to help, but it's not their department so then you have to wait for them to find the person who isn't even present in their department to come help you. Most recently (1st weekend in April '20), I'm in electrical looking for a tool, but the two male college students stocking in that department were to busy discussing their professors and assignments to even ask if customers in their aisle (including me) needed assistance, and then lacked any manners and continued to move their ladder forward into my shopping area as if they expected me to move for them. Literally a third employee walked up who then offered me assistance and these two college students refused to stop talking loudly so we could discuss my shopping needs. Hopefully their future studies include avoiding creating liability and how not to decrease consumer satisfaction.
This weekend I wanted to avoid coming into Menard's without greater knowledge of their product availability & it's location within the store (due to employee poor product knowledge & unsatisfactory customer service), so I visited menards.com only to find no prices listed for nearly all of their shower hardware! Most items state, "See price in cart." How does a retailer expect a consumer to reasonably evaluate hundreds of products at a time if the price (nor consumer ratings) are shown?
The store lacks specialty knowledge of the products sold and poor customer service, and the company website further lacks any shopping convenience. I can not locate product or receive service here so it isn't worth our additional time and effort (especially during bathroom and laundry renovations). Sticking with Lowe's & Ace Hardware going forward.
