First Coast No More Homeless Pets is an absolute s...

First Coast No More Homeless Pets is an absolute saving grace for so many animals! Our city needs places like this that are affordable and most importantly welcoming. They are always in the public helping to spread the word and sooooo soooo much more! Almost 9 years ago we rescued our dog (Dora) from a very dangerous and violent life. She was starved and physically abused so badly that she (the dog in the picture who now weighs 60lbs.) weighed 20 something lbs and had scars all over her. She was locked out on an apartment balcony, where she only had a small chair to sit in, due to the mountain of feces she was stuck in. The so-called owners would also let her loose in the apartment complex all day while they were at work. This is unfortunately probably the only time she was able to find something to eat, and she was always around the dumpster. Her presence made people and maintenance workers concerned for the community s safety and well-being and rightfully so. I prayed a lot about what I should do, because I knew that I had to do something about it. It s very unfortunate that her type of breed has such a bad rap but they do... After asking if I could help to feed, walk, or help in anyway but I was shut down, I knew that I had take action! I waited for them to let her out while they were at work and proceeded to make a trail of food from the bottom of the stairs to my front door. Dora was very afraid of people as you can imagine, so it is
needless to say that this was not an easy task. She finally got to the door 8 hours later, and from then on she was my dog. Funny thing was that this big tough guy who abused her didn t even say anything as I walked her blatantly in front of him. We nursed her back to health, and as you can see in the pictures she is a happy, spoiled rotten, and a very healthy girl! When we got her and needed to get her spayed, No More Homeless Pets were right there to help. They allowed us to use the Grant for Pit bulls, which was such as blessing, because it made it affordable for us when we needed it the most! I will forever be grateful to this place for all of the amazing work that they are doing in our community! Thank you All from the bottom of our hearts ! Keep up the awesome work and thank you again!
