For the most part - a very good experience. Very busy while we were there - triage - believe his name was Dave - in Emergency Room was great. Doctor in ER was great. Nurse in ER not so much. After a wait, the nurse could not get a blood vessel to do blood work so she said she would ask another - who did not come for 45 minutes. She got the vein on her first try and collected the tubes of blood but left them on the counter. Original nurse did not return to room and I noticed that the tubes of blood were still sitting on the counter 45 minutes later. I went to the desk to report the blood tubes issue but no one came in to get them. A different nurse came in to get an EKG and I told her about the tubes of blood and she labeled them and sent them on to the lab. At this time - around 9:00 - my husband said he had to use the bathroom - and the nurse advised that they would need a urine sample - something that had not been mentioned in the six hours we had been there. After his bathroom visit I brought the urine back to the room and told the nurse it was there on the counter. When I left the hospital at 10:30 - it was still sitting on the counter.

We arrived at 3:00 pm and the doctor decided that due to some health issues my husband has, he and his specialists wanted him moved to Kettering Hospital. I was told around 9:30 that transport was requested but that it would take awhile. I finally left the hospital at 10:30 and I understand that transport arrived between midnight and 1:00 am. I know the ER staff had no control over the transport time and I am not taking them to task about the delay - just mentioning it to show a time-line.

We were pleased with most everyone we encountered - the only problem was with the nurse assigned. Even though it was a busy Saturday night - there was no reason for some of the delays - especially the issue with the blood sitting on the counter for over an hour before it was sent to the lab., and the urine sitting on the counter for at least 1 1/2 hours. Other than those issues, as I said previously, my husband received great care on his visit to the ER. The ER doctor came in several times to let us know what was happening and to check on us, and we were very pleased with his care.
