I recently took my Prius to the service center for an oil change, headlight replacement, and routine check up. I had a bearing replaced and was informed after I dropped my car off that I needed my timing belt replaced also. I was told it would cost $1900. I found the belt costs around $80 online, and several other auto shops in the Encinitas/Carlsbad area offered to make the repair for $400, more or less. $1800+ in labor is outrageous, and I didn't have the timing belt replacement. I was however charged almost $200 to have my headlights changed and wasn't told it would be this expensive until I arrived to pick up my car? The bulbs together were $25. Pepoys does it for free... Again, $175 in labor for changing my headlights? I will absolutely not be coming back to this location ever.
