Sadly A Once Great Resort Has Been gutted.

Sadly A Once Great Resort Has Been gutted.

The Inn, used to be like, an experience in The Great Gatsby.

We used to spend every Thanksgiving there for years, on end.

Elaborate dinner was the norm , A gifted Elder used to play the piano,
Ice sculptures used to be everywhere, with a room dedicated to pyramids of Bon Bons and deserts to make you faint.

Then a chef showed up, who thinks all food should be drowned in salt.

Then we would spend time on the Veranda to look through the Captains Brass scope to see the Sea Lions, that's over now.

Why does an establishment, not tell you the price of coffee and tea?

There used to be a beautiful tea room for lunch in a rotunda shape, which was taken apart for more open seating. Gone is the intimacy!!

The gardens used to abound in all directions and varieties of flowers tended to, each and every season, now it is a feeble attempt to resemble the past with a failing grade.

Gone is the solid Brass Captains scope to watch the Sealions on the sandy Barr across the street.

Did the new owner think that, that was not necessary and someone would steal it after decades of fun for so many families and their children?

We ordered cheese cake, which was as small a portion made for Tom Thunb.

Don't insult us with your bean counting.

Gone is the once elaborate gift shop with beautiful items to buy.
Now sits a joke with nothing to buy, and so very tiny at best.

Gone is the beautul Mahogany Great Room now painted white, "ruined."

The menu is limited at best and the rooms are absurdly priced now, with
many other fine spots to stay for far less.

"The heart and soul, "has been cut out of this place now, and it shows.

.,Previous owners, who were in the hotel business, knew what they were doing, instead of a now lifeless bean counting organization, who cut the heart out of this once great destination.

Parking in the rear was complimentary, now it is gated for valet, to rip you off, for parking in a shell lined dirt area.

After having spent years here, I never thought I would have seen a, "killing,"
of a Grand Hotel, it is a joke now, don't waste your money or effort to get there. Sickening, how this once wonderful spot, has been ruined, forever.
