Let me explain why only one star! My husband, I and our 3 children recently stayed at this establishment. While the front desk staff and housekeeping staff were kind, the gentleman with brown hair working the breakfast (did not get his name) was very rude. We went down as a family to eat breakfast with the intention of letting the kids swim afterwards. My children did not wear shoes, nor was there a sign anywhere requiring shoes to enter the 'breakfast' room. The lady greeted us and we started making our plates. The man walked out an immediately yelled at my children stating they could not be in there without shoes. We felt as if the whole room could hear what he was saying. I sent my children back to the room to get shoes, to receive a call from my oldest that they were embarrassed and did not want to come back down. I went to front desk to complain, and he said he would pass it along. My complaint was the way my children were treated, along with NO signs being posted anywhere that shoes are required. I made my children face their, and come back down for breakfast. After all, it was paid for, and with the rates of the room we were for sure going to get what we paid for.

I get that it's requirement of the board of health. My biggest complaint is that why are there not any signs posted, and why were my children humiliated? I have stayed at other Best Western establishments, and I, myself, have gone down for breakfast without shoes. I have never been told they are a requirement. As far as that goes, I have never been told shoes are required at any of the establishments we have stayed at, even
the Embassy Suites. Since this is a board of health requirement, I would think that signs would be posted somewhere. Also, the gentleman could have kindly approached my husband and I to advise of the requirements, rather than yelling at my children so loud that other patrons could hear.

The other reason why I gave this Establishment a 1 star is because of the rooms. They are not near as nice as the front desk lobby area. The air conditioner did not work, and was very loud. It sounded as if the fan was going out, and vibrated all night. We ended up having to open the sliding door just to get some cool air in the room. Again, we advised the front desk, who said they would PASS the word on.

For the price this hotel is not worth the room you stay in.

On a positive note....my children did enjoy the pool area. They were amazed of the depth, as the other hotels we have stayed have never been 9ft deep. they also loved the hot tub. The seating was very nice, and the waterfall area was beautiful. Just wish the rooms were as nice, and we would not have had the bad experience at breakfast.
