Hotwire convinced me that this was going to be a 4 star hotel experience. Definitely not the case. The size of the rooms are small, so, instead of getting 2 queen beds (necessary when traveling with children who will be sharing a bed with each adult), you have 2 full beds and not much space. I realize the hotel is right near the convention center and the majority of their guests are probably there on business and thus their business accounts will gladly pay money for wifi - but I don't. When this room is valued at $195 a night, I expect free wifi. Period. I was hoping when I read other reviews that it was a single case of the rooms being not up to par. But sadly, our room, too, had cracked leather headboards, cracked lampshades, and mildew between the shower tiles. When using the elevators, there is a security feature (which I like) where you have to use your room key in order to make the elevator work above a certain floor. However, my key did not work. Additionally, one of the bed comforters had a stain on them. Finally, they failed to mention you needed to keep your room key in order to make the parking garage gate work at checkout. So, when trying to leave the garage, we had to convince the parking attendant that we were indeed hotel guests who were not informed to keep the hotel key when we checked out by the hotel staff. The location is nice and we enjoyed our walk to a great local Italian restaurant to eat. The staff seemed friendly enough. But, clearly the Raleigh Sheraton owners do not care enough to read these reviews and fix these complaints that other people have also testified to. Don't waste your money here.
