I made a reservation for a room with a king size bed. Upon check in there were no king size beds left and they probably wouldn t have any available for at least 48 hours.
Valet parking is the only option for your vehicle and apparently a Toyota Tacoma is considered a full size vehicle and costs $55.00 a night. The lowest rate is $45.00 a night.
I was told at check in that they needed a credit/debit card on file for incidentals. They will charge your card $100.00 a night for the duration of your stay. I did not agree to this and was told they would accept $50.00 a night instead. I told them to take all of the bottled water, candy, snacks and junk they charge for out of my room. I told them to turn the TV off as well so I couldn t charge any movies. This wasn t an option though, they had to have at least $250.00 from my card. I have never stayed at a hotel where this wasn t an option. I decided to leave for awhile and research my options. I came back and there was a new shift on duty. The new manager on duty after midnight waived all of the incidental fees without taking the candy, snacks, drinks and TV out of the room.
When I did get into my room there was mold above the shower. I asked to change rooms and I was told that I would have to take my stuff out of the room then come back down to the check in desk with all of my stuff. I asked for a cart and I was told one would be right up. After waiting over 30 minutes no cart was brought up. I had to leave and decided I would deal with this problem later. By the time I got back there was a new shift on duty. The nice woman working the desk found me a room on the same floor and left my old room key active for a few minutes so I could move. This woman didn t make me bring my stuff all the way downstairs just to change rooms.
The room I moved into was on the side of the north tower that overlooked the railroad tracks. The train noise was just loud enough to wake me up. The quality of the room was average at best. The HD TV was nice though!!!
The total cost for the room and parking was $207.00 a night. I expected quite a bit more at this price.
There is very little consistency if you have a question for the staff, but if you don t like the answer wait until the next shift comes on duty. About half of the staff I dealt with were ambivalent and seemed to be there just for the paycheck. A few were right at the edge of being surly and the remainder were extremely nice, courteous, accommodating and sincere.
