RINGWORM! The facility is clean, the front staff is very kind and helpful, and we love our kitty! But, last month, RMFR adopted to us a cat that has ringworm. His medical charts show he tested positive 3 weeks before he was released to us. Five days after we adopted him our vet identified a lesion on the cat and explained to us what the paperwork showed. We contacted RMFR immediately for help. They provided him topical treatment, but even though it was apparent this wasn't enough they wouldn't provide oral meds or regular lyme dips. The director began to deny that our cat had ringworm when they released him, which was patently untrue. All we wanted was help correcting their error, which we ultimately didn't receive. My children and I broke out with multiple lesions, one child is losing hair in a couple of patches, and over a month later we are still treating the cat and ourselves and constantly sanitizing the house. It was probably an honest mistake but the director treated us with complete lack of human empathy. I strongly recommend avoiding this shelter.
