After my shifter broke, I priced replacements and began removing the old shifter and realized there was more to fixing this than I wanted to do. Higher Ground fixed my shifter the same day and let me stay outside during this pandemic. They did a fantastic job and tnd at a reasonable price. So perhaps my prior experience with Higher Ground was not a habitual problem.

Previously, After making an appointment to get my bike tuned up for the first time, I dropped my bike off and stated that the rear derailleur needed adjustment. I was surprised when my bike was ready in about an hour and was given a discount because the bike was in such good shape. Unfortunately, when I got the bike on the trail, the rear derailleur refused to shift to the high gears and my new chain skipped on the cassette. When I called and explained my situation, I was told that I could bring the bike back to the store and if there weren t any other customers they would fix my rear derailleur. The employee explained how two technicians had checked my bike out before it was complete, so why didn t it shift correctly?

Spending an hour and a half driving back to Higher Ground to have someone try to fix my bike after having already paid them to fix it seemed like a cost I was not willing to incur. So, I began watching YouTube videos on how to adjust a rear derailleur . After about an hour of watching videos, I began to understand just what was going on when I shift gears and began adjusting my rear derailleur myself. At first, I made a few mistakes, but after an hour, my bike was shifting like new again.
