After 17 year on active duty, several moves with two overseas assignments, this has been the worst experience ever. Movers company in Georgia, took all my furniture apart and didn t label the tools properly.
Once in VA, the movers didn t show up till till almost noon even though I was told they would be here between 0800-1000. They unloaded my household goods, a lot stuff broken. My bedroom set had a bunch dents. Normal for military moves I guess.
I checked of the list making sure everything came. By the end of the day bunch of stuff still missing. The main guy kept calling the warehouse to see if possible a crate was missing. None of furniture was able to be assembled since one parts box was still missing a pieces of the each of the furniture. By 1900 the guy finally said they are leaving but another crew will be back at 0800 the next day to bring the missing stuff and put all the furniture together.
The next morning by 1000 no one had called or came. I called the company to find out what was going on. I was informed that they hadn t even looked for my missing items yet. So the lady names Courtney was going to find out what was going on. Couple hours later she finally called back and said they would be here around 1400. They told me they are also sending a crew to unpack my boxes. That crew showed up around 1400. They dumped out all the boxes since they couldn t really put stuff anywhere as they stated. But my bookshelf s were there and so were the closest. But now my house looks like complete disaster with stuff just everywhere and I can t even get to anything.
The other crew finally comes at 1640 with the missing items. They unload the stuff pretty quickly and then attempt to assemble the furniture. They admit they aren t not experts in assembling furniture and don t really know what they are doing. They were able to assemble the master bedroom set. They keep asking me what s screws goes to what. After a couple hours they quit and said it s getting late and we don t want to be here all night. They will send someone else to finish.
Day 3: I call again the company to find out when they will send someone out. I spoke to the manager named Brittany Jessup and she asks for pictures and that she would get someone to come for the furniture. While I wait I start organizing some stuff. Before I moved I spend hours organizing my paperwork, I made folders for each item and seperated it all. Now all the paperwork was thrown in pile on the floors all mixed up. That s how this company cares about your items.
They just called and told me that could have some next Wednesday to come assemble my stuff. So they want me continue to live in this disaster for another week because they couldn t send compentent people or do this move right. Now I am upset and I did use curse words talking to the lady. She said I shouldn t be disrespectful when I have been trying to be patient and nothing has gone right.
