I greatly enjoyed our stay! We stayed at Brookstreet the night of a hockey game at the Canadian Tire Centre. The only downside was that check-in was at 4pm so it didn't give us a lot of time to get settled into the room, unpack our luggage, have dinner, etc before the game. On the bright side, the hotel arranges Bus Shuttles to take you to the Canadian Tire Centre...there were about 3 school buses the night we went, which left by 6pm and picked us up at the same spot 30minutes after the game. We didn't run into any hockey players from the visitor's team, as a few other reviews here mentioned.

I also brought my small dog, for which they charge $25 per night for a pet fee. I believe the whole 4th floor was for petfriendly rooms, for any of you concerned about staying in a room that formerly had pets. It was so convenient because I didn't have to worry about bringing my dog to a kennel, and even took the dog on the trails behind the hotel that night, and brought my dog around Ottawa the next day after check out.

The one downside to our room was that it doesn't have a mini fridge so it made cooling our drinks and snacks more complicated, as we had a lug a huge cooler in and out of the hotel and on our roadtrip.

My partner and I also went to the Jazz Lounge after the game, which was an added perk for our night, relaxing and the cherry on-top of our stay. The drinks at the Jazz Lounge were quite overpriced though and though the food was good quality and flavorful, there wasn't much quantity to fill us both up.

Otherwise the hotel offered us a free late check-out on Sunday, so instead of noon it was 1pm, which was really nice to relax the next day, have brunch, etc. They have Starbucks coffee onsite so I surprised my partner with a latte in the morning. There are beautiful trails behind the hotel so I took a walk in the morning; looks like there are snowmobile trails behind. The outdoor skating rink was closed, unfortunately, as my partner loves ice-skating and I booked it thinking that would be an added bonus surprise.

We were hoping to eat at the golf course for breakfast but it was abandoned and the hotel staff didn't seem to be aware of this, as they shuttled us there. Luckily we phoned the hotel and they sent a free shuttle back to pick us up after wandering around looking for staff at the golf course. We ended up having breakfast at Options Jazz Lounge, as I didn't realize Perspectives Restaurant required reservations, let alone that all the bookings would be so full in the middle of the winter!
