A really nice winter pub that's never really drawn me in for the summer. I think I'm finding a theme in my reviews in that standing on corners of busy roads aren't really my thing. In the winter though, when you're determined to stay in doors and avoid the cold and dark afternoons and evenings then the two fire places in this pub really allow you to settle in for the day.

The food is good but not very memorable, they do an above average roast on a Sunday but I'm not sure that my rating of average is on par with anyone else's; I've only had three or four roasts that I really rate and none of them were by my mum even (sorry mum).

Staff are friendly and there's a dog or two who frequent regularly.
