What a killer mountain! Home of the 2002 Olympic downhill events, Snowbasin has tons of incredible views and fast downhills.

I think Snowbasin is best for people who enjoy exploring. While it hadn't snowed in ~5 days when I first visited, I found amazing lines all day. It seemed like every time I rode down the mountain, I would find some amazing new little nook (especially off Strawberry Lift!). It snowed during the second half of our first day, so we had fresh tracks on an empty mountain on Sunday from 1-4, and we came back the next day. I won't even attempt to describe how amazing that was. If you ride, you know.

Snowbasin may also be one of the best beginner mountains. They have a great bunny hill, and the long gondala ride from the base leads to a really long beginner-friendly green run.

Their lodges are some of the nicest in the world, with quite simply the best food I've had at any resort. Seriously, Snowbasin, if you're reading this, tell your boss that the Chef dealserves a raise! You can tell that there's someone behind the scenes that understands the limitations of a cafeteria style restaurant and is making really good food and experiences anyways. The lodges are cozy, spacious, and warm, with tons of seating. They have outdoor and basement seating for people who bring their own food, and my group found that these spaces were quiet and emptier.

I loved Snowbasin and will be coming back next time I visit UT. Thanks, crew Snowbasin!
