(**Do not be fooled by the 5 star reviews, they are all highly paid executives with the exception of one review. The Executive Vice President of Marketing and Operations encourages employees to write reviews and create LinkedIn accounts to boost the company's network and help their tarnished reputation. Another shameless tactic to fool the masses in search of services and employment.**)
This place is a nightmare. It's a constant revolving door of staff, management, "policy" if you want to call it that and politics. With a company of over 700 employees nationwide, they have only 4 members in Human Resources, in which half are incompetent. They hire inexperienced, tactless youth to keep costs down. Employees avoid contacting the HR department with real issues because they know their issues won't be handled appropriately and with consideration. This department along with Accounting & Finance flies by the seat of their pants daily with no direction while their managers stay behind closed doors sending emails or gathering in private offices amongst other executives for hours on end.
They've gone through four Controllers, two CFO'S, 1 HR Director, several accounting staff, support staff, Field Technicians, District Managers, temps, etc. and they're on their third CEO who is a wolf in sheep's clothing on assignment by the corporation's main investors. He's smooth talking and plays his role well, yet unprofessional with coarse jesting and curses like a sailor. He smiles, laughs, and carries on with lies in your presence, then stabs you in the back the second you turn it.
The Vice President of Human Resources is the king wolf so prepare to kiss her behind to keep your job and advance no matter which office you work at. If you get the "pleasure" of meeting her, she will smile, laugh, and sell you oxygen then leave you high and dry once you're in. Together they have mastered the illusion of inclusion and as soon as you are no longer apart of their plan or voice an opinion on the contrary, they'll escort you out of the building. The CEO runs everything through her and does not make any decisions on his own because he's still learning the fairly new company...through her. The former Executive Vice President/Vice President of Corporate Development/Interim Vice President of Technology, now CFO has worn many hats and has gone from a cheerful, fun, high-five giving, easy going guy to a stressed out, angry, lying wolf like the rest of management.
It is quite interesting how raises amongst the several executive management members continues to climb well into the $150,000-$250,000+ mark with hefty bonuses all while those on the ground doing the dirty work to keep the company running scramble to make ends meet. Especially those working in the dangerous and explosive labs barely making $11 per hour after many years of service. If you and a colleague have the same amount of experience and education, whomever management favors more will receive a higher salary, bonuses, and perks like telecommuting.
They constantly move employees from office to office, desk to desk, department to department like cattle. Accounts Payable dodges/won't return calls for past due accounts and management knows and does nothing about it. Vendors have walked in and demanded payment, they've been threatened with lawsuits by vendors, some have even threatened to bring the sheriff's to collect payment, yet the executive management's pockets are bursting at the seams as they celebrate closing after closing over unlimited drinks or lavish getaways up the coast on the company's dime. So much talent has left the doors of Montrose, some at will but mostly by force and it is terrible to watch. The lack of communication, constant turnover, politics and secrecy behind closed doors makes stress levels high with job security hanging in the balance of management's feelings on any given day. The lies, greed, and deceptive behavior continue to be the downfall of this corporation.
