I attended Dragon for five years, and each year proved why it s an amazing place. I came from a school where i was bullied by teachers, hopeless in math, and silent in class. Dragon made me feel comfortable in my own skin. I was encouraged by my teachers to speak up, and i learned more because of this. I have an unpayable debt to the amazing teachers, and my classmates. My lifelong friends.

I was in a play every year, with a good speaking role. Not every school can do that for its students. I was on the student council and so many other clubs: qsa, improv, yoga, the list goes on! I made that happen, and Dragon facilitated my exploration. I can say without any exaggeration that it prepared me for the content of university, up to and possibly beyond my third year. I had to re-read a book in third year that Dragon taught in grade 10. Seminars in university are also far more comfortable after a dragon education. Although they could do more to prepare you for hard deadlines (teachers take note!)

That said, i want to address some of the other reviews. I know dragon isn t perfect, and not for everyone. It isnt totally free from bullying, and the hallways can get a pretty dirty in wintertime. (But have you ever been to a school? They smell like wet mittens and orange peels at the best of times.)
Dragon is a community, which includes all of its members. Its a great place because of how much the students can impact the daily operations of the place. You want the place cleaner? Fine! Clean it!! Its your home too! And if you have a complaint, you wont be expelled for voicing it in an honest way. Sneaking around the internet on anonymous may make you feel like a russian hacker, but it wont lead to substantial change in your life. And no, the principal never gave out smokes.

I would give you every star in the sky if i could, but google only has five. Five it is.

Thanks to Vanessa, Meg, Steph, James, Sarah, Lorin, Christina, Brendan, and all of the amazing staff! I miss you!
