I love that you can come, park on a side street for free for 2 hours and walk around the Tar Pits and museum and still feel like you've gotten a great experience. But it is also definitely worth going in. Always have great exhibits. Highly recommend. Also a great stop if you are on a road trip and just need a break from traffic. Just a little out of the way but a great break for kids to run around (there are free bathrooms outside).
