A gorgeous hotel in what can only be described as the perfect location for walking around town and accessing everything Queenstown has to offer. A very nice breakfast was included in left bank restaurant and the drinks in the club lounge were also of a great quality. We had a junior suite which was a fantastic size and felt like a little apartment. The only disappointment was the restaurant 1789. I would give it 0/10. Overpriced and poor quality food. We had a terrible experience there with an allergy and the lazy way it was handled by the chef. Completely opposite to every other restaurant we visited in Queenstown. The serving staff were all lovely and tried the best they could to help but it was clear no one of any seniority in the food and beverage team was willing to step up and support their team or us as the diners . We did not pay for her meal but frankly would have rather been able to talk to someone about why it was so bad. Sadly in a very non Sofitel way no one was interested. So the missing star is for the restaurant . By all means stay her as the hotel is great, location is perfect , waiting and reception
Teams very friendly but the food in the restaurant should be avoided at all costs!!!
