WIFI is weak. Avoid Sandcastle Inn if you need to stay in touch with your work through the internet. Wifi signal is extremely weak an unreliable. To send out a time-sensitive, mission-critical work email, I had to do it on my phone, then walk around several blocks until I got a strong enough cell signal for it to transmit. Several attempt to send it from my laptop or phone during the night failed to transmit due to inadequate signal, either wifi or cell, in the motel. I went to the front desk early in the morning to ask where the wifi router was located so I could attempt to send an email standing next to the router. The person at the front desk had no clue even where the router was located, and could not get anyone of the phone who knew anything.
Also, the "continental breakfast" in the lobby is not what you may expect based on stays in places like Holiday Inn Express, La Quinta, etc. It consists of a few sweet rolls, dry cereal, coffee and juice. Plan to go out for breakfast.
The wifi is barely adequate to check emails and social media accounts though even those do not download quickly, fully or easily. If all you want is a cheap place to stay at the beach, and have zero concerns about taking care of business back home, the Sandcastle Inn is minimally adequate. If you need to maintain online contact with work responsibilities, avoid this like the plague.
