In Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Digicel is in competition with French and therefore European market. However, unlike competing operators, Digicel did not provide 3G services for the year 2008 in Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Guyana. From 2009, the operator submits a request to ARCEP to obtain frequency bands. Digicel obtains the authorization of the Authority in 2010 (see ARCEP decision no 2010-0201).

Growth of Digicel
In 2006, Digicel invests the markets of the South American continent as well as the Pacific. In September 2006, Digicel acquired Digicel Holdings in El Salvador and renamed it "El Nuevo Digicel". In December 2007, Digicel obtained a mobile phone license in Honduras and a license to operate in Panama in May 2008.
In 2007, Digicel acquired U * Mobile, now renamed Digicel Guyane Ltd to invest in markets in South America: Guyana, Suriname (December 2007) and French Guiana (June 2006).
Digicel Pacific
Digicel's sister company in the Pacific Islands region currently operates a 900 MHz GPRS and Edge, Vanuatu, Tonga, Fiji, Nauru and GSM data network in Samoa and Papua New Guinea. Experimental in the Solomon Islands and Tahiti.
Digicel Caribbean
On Tuesday, February 8, 2011, Digicel took a majority stake in Netxar technologies. In March 2012, Digicel acquired its main competitor Comcel in Haiti. Since this acquisition, Digicel has become the main operator in Haiti
On February 6, 2007, Digicel signed a three-year partnership agreement with Vodafone.
