Wow. Once you get away from the tour bus crazy... wow! They have 4g in the campground so you can download your topos for AlpineGPS then just hit the Savage River Alpine Trail. Park a car by the River Trail if you can, it is easier going up from the campground. You can see sheep up there. Or if you want take the River Trail. After the trail gets bad, stick to the riverbank. It is worth getting wet for the time it saves. Careful of the Savage though it is quick and aptly named. There are bears, and a fresh moose kill or sheep isn't uncommon down the river away from all of the tourists. After these two you'll be ready for a brew from the Riley Campground store.
