Seems Like Just A Bad Joke to Me.

Seems Like Just A Bad Joke to Me.

After I was assaulted by a company of obnoxious telemarketers based in San Diego, I filed a complaint with the BBB. My specific request was that these jerks never contact me again.

First let me be clear about the company I complained about: They were total, obnoxious, aggressive jerks. Politely asking them to remove my phone number from their database was about as effective as asking a pile of rotting fish to smell like petunias. All they did was continue their aggressive behavior.

So I turned to the San Diego BBB for some assistance. Their form asked what resolution I would like. That was easy. I would like for them never to contact me again.

Here was the business' non-response:

"Our marketing department is very excited about our product. I wouldnt say they are agressive, they are persistant because of how much we can do with smb's."

That was total BS, and nothing more than adding insult to injury -- which I pointed out. It completely failed to acknowledge the problem, completely failed to respect my point of view, and made NO PROMISE WHATSOEVER OF ANYTHING THE BUSINESS WOULD DO IN ANY ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE THE COMPLAINT. So I pointed out that the response was completely unacceptable.

The BBB's response to that?

The Better Business Bureau has determined that the business made a good faith effort to address the complaint and has now closed it

The BBB has determined that the company s response exhibits an understanding of your grievance and addresses the disputed issues. Therefore, the BBB has decided to close your complaint.

So I phoned the BBB. I was told that if any business makes any reply that even mentions the complaint, it's regarded as a "good faith effort to resolve the complaint."

Completely useless. A total, absolute, unfunny, bad joke.

Where does one go to complain about the BBB? Here, I guess.

And my only complaint about THAT is they already have so many bad reviews that my "one-star" won't knock them any lower.
