Miguelito's is a bit difficult to explain/review.
On one hand, it's a long-time local TexMex institution and can be very popular during the weekend. At the same time, it's also 1/3 bar and 1/3 event hall (they also hold defensive driving classes here as well).
The food tastes fine (typical TexMex fare) but I could see how some feel it's overpriced without a discount (In fact, I don't think I've ever eaten here without using an Entertainment book coupon or a Groupon).
I've never had a problem with service there, but I typically avoid going here when the parking lot is full.
And, if you haven't been there before you'll need to adjust your expectations of this place before arriving. When I said earlier that it's a long-time establishment, I meant that. The building is kind of old and the neighborhood around it isn't bad/unsafe, but it hasn't seen any improvements in a long time (making the building and area around it look a little run down).
In the end, Miguelito's is ok. You're parents/grandparents will probably enjoy the food more than a younger crowd, but the bar can also be a fun place to take your friends.
