I applied to Fidelio through a graduate recruitment website. In retrospect there were lots of red flags at the interview.

1) Fidelio did not offer to pay travel expenses, even though I lived on the other side of the country.

2) The interview was conducted in a semi-busy business lounge. The movement of people and general level of noise was distracting, especially as the interviewer had a very soft voice.

3) Lots of the questions asked were inappropriate. I m now aware that no prospective employer had the right to ask such intrusive questions. I was asked to list the other positions and companies I d applied for. Lots of remarks were made on my background and upbringing.

I understand that employers need to gage the dedication of graduates to a specific field, but the probing was inappropriate. Later, I was rejected on the basis of having applied for other roles . What did they expect? All graduates apply for several roles- what s wrong with wanting economic stability and employment?
