Mesa police department allowed a tow company to steal my vehicle without verifying the validity of the supposed repossession. I had purchased a vehicle from auction and had a clean clear title. Verified everything Thru the MVD. I put all of the vehicle paperwork in my name at a DMV location. Within three hours of doing so, the vehicle was picked up by a repossession tow truck company at my property. This company gave Mesa police an abbreviated company name so we could not verify the company. They also gave Mesa PD the wrong address and phone #.
Mesa Police Department should be held 100% responsible for their lack of verification in this matter. They allow the company to illegally steal a vehicle. They did not verify companies and we did they allow the company to illegally steal a vehicle. They did not verify the companies validly, just allowed them to steal the vehicle.
Unaware of what happened my vehicle, we called to report it stolen and they told us it was repaired. We informed them that I had a clean clear title and we gave them the VIN number but they would not help us. They realized that they had made a mistake, so one of their dispatchers said they would not assist us any further and they told us to call our lien holder. We call back again the next morning and explain the situation, inform them of our purchase and that there is no lien and again would not assist us. They told us to contact the lienholder but would not give us any information in regards to mean older ones or where the vehicle can be found. The Mesa police department who is supposed to uphold the law, broke the law and they should be held reliable for their actions. Here s another example of how government can do whatever they want and I do not suffer any consequences for their actions.
The vehicle that was stolen by the recovery service was all wheel drive and they dragged the vehicle. They have damaged the suspension and now there s a huge gouge in the inner right rear rim due to their towing equipment.
Mesa police allowed a tow company to illegally steal a vehicle and then they covered up their clerical issues by not provided the information that they are legally required to give.
