A walk on the bridge is a unique experience! There are special corridors for pedestrians on both sides along the bridge. The view of the old fortresses (the one of Rion and the other of Antirrion) from above is perfect! When the atmosphere is clear, it is possible to see far till the island of Kefalonia and the place where the famous Lepanto navy battle took place in 1571(Oct.7th) between the Ottoman fleet and the United Christian fleet (Miguel de Cervantes participated). Generally, is an unforgettable experience. Do not forget to take water and sandwich or fruits. It is about 6 kilometers to go and come back! On the Antirrion side there is a nice exposition hall, with information about the construction of the bridge and little souvenirs!
