I'm at the VA in Ft Worth. My Dr was an hour and a half late for my appt, I was left in a room with no communication as to my wait. My labs were pushed back and there's an hour and a half wait for that as well. When I ask for timelines I'm given snark instead of help. When people wonder why vets blow their brains out in VA parking lots it's this. Our time isn't valued, our needs are discounted, we're treated as numbers instead of people. The lack of empathy sparks hopelessness leading down a path of no return. Nothing has changed in the 9 years since my first brush with the VA. If healthcare were affordable outside of this I would be elsewhere.
