The room was clean however the reason we booked the Garden of Eden Apple Suite was specifically for the indoor private pool. We arrived at 4pm, and the pool was empty. I called the front desk immediately and was told they would have it filled right away. An hour passed and still nothing. My husband then called again and got a different receptionist. He was told she just arrived and would send someone over. Another 45 mins or so passed and started to notice the pool filling. Was told by maintenance that they were having problems filling it with warm water so they used cold instead. He told us to put the heat cover back on and it would be 90 degrees in a couple hours. At this point, its 6:30pm and the pool is cold and we need to head out for our dinner reservation. We arrived back to our room around 10pm looking forward to use the pool. To our surprise, the pool was still cold. Cold enough that we were shivering and not able to stay in it. Being the only reason we booked this room we were very disappointed. We traveled about 3 hrs just for one night. By the time we realized the pool was still cold it was to late to switch rooms. The pool was advertised as heated, and we knew sometime was up when we arrived to an empty pool. I wish the front desk would have offered a new room when I called the first time. For $400.00/night, we expected more. The food was good enough and entertainment was nice. The walkways were very slippery however, which was dangerous when walking up the steep hill to the restaurant. I had planned to tell the front desk about the pool at check out but the receptionist was uninterested and didn't think to ask us how our stay was. This is surprising because I have never been to a resort where they didnt ask about your stay. To us, this gave us the impression they didnt want to know if we enjoyed ourselves or were satisfied. After all being said, we dont plan to return to Cove Haven or recommend to friends. I think selling a heated pool means you should receive a heated pool. Not an empty pool and then a cold pool that was filled 2 hours later. I wish we would have said something to the receptionist and received some of our money back.
