Priya Dattani Review of Hilton Brighton Metropole
By far the worst Hilton's I have stayed at. Stayed...
By far the worst Hilton's I have stayed at. Stayed there a night & 2 days for work.
- The food is of the poorest quality. It has no flavour and is presented like canteen food or school dinners in mass quantities. All meals are below average & even after having a preordered 3 course meal, many of us were hungry & stepped out to find something decent to eat!
- The tables in restaurants is permanently sticky like it's never been wiped down. The cutlery is left on the table sticking to the surface.
- The cups for tea & coffee are dirty & stained so you have to go through a few to finally find a clean one
- There was a wedding there, we were a group of 60 odd people from work in addition to other guests staying over. Yet the entire ladies toilet on the ground floor was Out of Order for more than 24 hours. Interestingly when you ask the staff where other close toilets are, they were unaware that the ground floor toilets were unusable. The ones on the first floor were occupied by Nursery kids most time during the day. So we had to make our way to the gym toilets in the basement.
- Now the bedrooms - most of the rooms did not have a working air con. There are no power sockets near the bedside which you would think is a common thing to have.
- The bathroom had an empty packet of shower cap - goes to show how much attention House keeping pay whilst cleaning. So I had no shower cap & no one at reception to answer call to arrange for one!
I am absolutely shocked to have experienced something like this in a hotel like Hilton.
- The overall decor is very dated with stained carpet. Whilst it is nice to preserve some of the vintage style, the hotel desperately needs an uplift.
Apart from the convenient location of being walking distance from the pier, there is nothing to recommend about it.
