I woke up this morning to low water pressure and water running out of the water meter into the street. I called the city and they said someone would be out to check. When they didn't show I went out and turned off the meter to make sure it wasn't my pipe that was leaking. It wasn't, the water was still running into the street. I called the city back. They again said someone would be out. They showed up 15 mins later. They told me their policy was to wait for the second call to make sure it was real issue. That makes sense. They started working on it at 1pm dodging the rain bands from Laura. They found that the fitting from the 5 ft. deep main line into the distribution line had failed. My house was built in 1966 and was the first house on this street. They fixed it by 5pm working in the rain. Baton Rouge is getting better all the time. Big thanks to the city.
